New Name, New CD For Guitar Trio
Vacation Guide, June 2005

"TRIADA" is the new name for the Bulgarian guitar trio which was formerly known in Door County as BG Brothers. The three brothers (Nikola, Vasil and Petar Chekardzhikov) have taken the new name which is likely to be more appropriate than BG Brothers which some people have mistaken for the pop group "BEE GEES". The guitar trio has performed at various venues in Door County and around the Midwest during the past three summers. If you wish to read more about the trio's earlier career, there is a brief history at a website which was part of a recent California concert performance.

Although the virtuoso trio had a successful career in Europe performing in over 500 concerts before arriving in the US, the brothers' focus was to continue with advanced studies at'CSUF (California State University Fullerton) under the guidance of guitar master David Grimes with whom they had taken master classes in Bulgaria while he visited their country.

After immersing themselves studying a wide range of musicrelated subjects and doing many concerts in California, the brothers returned briefly to Door County last December for two reasons - to record a new CD and to give a concert. The concert took place at Shepherd of the Bay Lutheran Church where the trio charmed over 300 fans with classical and romance favorites as well as lighter fare.

The trio decided to record their new CD at Sister Bay's Allemande Recording Studio under expert guidance of studio owner and recording engineer Hans Christian. The new CD is scheduled to be released this summer, and a CD release concert is intended to be scheduled for this summer in Door County. Watch for announcements or call 854-2986 if you would like to be notified about of the date and place of this concert. Among the performances TRIADA will do this summer there will be nine concerts aboard Sunset Concert Cruises; details including sound samples of the new CD will be online at .

A number of exciting things have happened in the career of TRIADA during the past several months, including new works for guitar by noted composers who composed these works specifically for TRIADA. You can find more details by clicking on TRIADA NEWS at the Concert Cruise website. Currently the trio is awaiting completion of a concerto for three guitars and Symphony orchestra by a famous Bulgarian composer Rossen Balkanski. The world premier of this work will be in 2006 by the Huntington Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Kimo Furumoto in West Virginia.
